Flipkart has listed vivo’s S2 FE for an Oct. 6 launch in India and revealed its green rear design. Rumored specifications include a 120Hz AMOLED display, Dimensity 7300e chip and 10,000 mAh battery.
Flipkart has confirmed an Oct. 6 launch date for the vivo S2 FE in India, while a promotional image reveals the phone’s green rear panel and dual-camera layout. vivo has yet to announce the phone on its official India website.
Design and software
The S2 FE uses a green back with a camera island in the upper-left corner. The island holds two cameras, though the retailer page does not identify the sensors or explain their roles.
Flipkart says the phone will run OriginOS, without naming a version. The S2 FE could ship with OriginOS 6, based on vivo’s current product schedule. The vivo V80 will introduce OriginOS 7 outside China, so the S2 FE may use the earlier release.
The software choice will shape the phone’s place in vivo’s ecosystem. OriginOS connects vivo phones with features such as device sharing, cross-device controls and cloud services. Buyers who already use vivo earbuds, tablets or other accessories may gain more from the S2 FE than users who switch between brands.
Rumored specifications
Reports point to a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen should offer smoother scrolling than a 60Hz panel while keeping power use below the level of a higher-refresh gaming display.
A MediaTek Dimensity 7300e chip could power the phone. The processor would place the S2 FE in the upper midrange, with enough performance for common apps, photography and games at moderate settings. vivo has not confirmed the memory, storage or cooling system.
The rumored camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor and a 32MP front camera. The retailer image confirms two rear cameras, but the second sensor remains unidentified. vivo has not published sample images or camera features.
A 10,000 mAh battery would give the S2 FE a capacity above most phones in its class. The battery could help the phone last through long workdays and travel, though its size may add weight and thickness. Charging details remain unknown.
The phone may include an in-display fingerprint scanner. Reports place its price below INR 40,000, which would put it against upper midrange models from OnePlus, Xiaomi and Samsung in India.
The V80 connection
The S2 FE will share the Oct. 6 launch stage with the vivo V80, according to the retailer listing and previous reports. vivo has confirmed that the V80 will feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, four ZESS-tuned cameras and a 7,200 mAh battery with 90W charging.
The two phones target different buyers. The V80 focuses on faster charging, a higher display refresh rate and a broader camera system. The S2 FE could appeal to buyers who value battery capacity and a large screen at a lower price.
vivo’s launch will clarify the differences between the models, including camera hardware, charging speeds, storage options and software versions. The Oct. 6 event should also reveal whether the S2 FE reaches other markets after its India debut.
