Oppo is set to raise prices on some of its budget-to-mid-range smartphones, according to a recent X post by reliable leaker @saaaanjjjuuu. The leak suggests that the brand plans to raise prices on the Reno 16c and three models from the A6 series. Launched in July 2026, this could already be the second price increase for the Reno 16c.

Released between late 2025 and early 2026, the A6 series’ variants have also seen multiple price hikes in recent months. However, if the leak is accurate, the latest one could push prices of smartphones with MediaTek 6300 SoCs past the 30,000 rupees mark.

At launch, the A6 series was a great option for budget users, available for under 20,000 rupees, while the Reno 16c was a strong pick for mid-range customers at its launch price. Read on to find out whether the smartphones still qualify for those categories after the rumored price hike.

Oppo might increase the prices of multiple smartphones in September 2026

Reliable leaker @saaaanjjjuuu posted what appears to be an official dealer memo from the company on X, stating that prices for the Reno 16c, Oppo A6 5G, Oppo A6x 5G, and Oppo A6c 4G smartphones will increase.

The 8GB/128GB variant of the Oppo Reno 16c, which was available for 49,999 rupees, saw its second price hike since launch and could now be available for 52,999 rupees.

The same phone’s 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB variants, previously available for 53,999 and 59,999 rupees, respectively, might now be available for 57,999 rupees and 62,999 rupees, respectively, after the rumored upcoming hike.

Here is a table of the old and leaked updated prices of the Reno 16c variants:

Variants Previous price (rupees) New rumored prices (rupees)
Oppo Reno 16c (8GB/128GB) 49,999/- 52,999/-
Oppo Reno 16c (8GB/256GB) 53,999/- 57,999/-
Oppo Reno 16c (12GB/256GB) 59,999/- 62,999/-

The company might also be increasing prices for its A6 series smartphones. According to the leaker’s post, the Oppo A6 5G 4 GB/128 GB variant might be available for 29,999 rupees after a rumored 3000-rupee increase. The 6GB/128GB variant is also expected to see a similar hike (from 28,999 rupees to 31,999 rupees), while the 6GB/256GB variant could now cost 35,999 rupees after a 4,000-rupee hike.

Other models from the A6 series are also receiving price hikes, according to the X post. The 4GB/64GB variant of the Oppo A6x is expected to see a 1,000-rupee hike, while the 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB variants are expected to get a 2,000-rupee hike.

The prices of the two variants of the Oppo A6c 4G are also expected to increase by 1,000 rupees. The table below lists the old and new prices of the A6 series phones:

Variants Old prices (rupees) Expected new prices (rupees)
Oppo A6 5G (4GB/128GB) 26,999/- 29,999/-
Oppo A6 5G (6GB/128GB) 28,999/- 31,999/-
Oppo A6 5G (6GB/256GB) 31,999/- 35,999/-
Oppo A6x 5G (4GB/64GB) 18,999/- 19,999/-
Oppo A6x 5G (4GB/128GB) 21,999/- 23,999/-
Oppo A6x 5G (6GB/128GB) 24,999/- 26,999/-
Oppo A6c 4G (4GB/64GB) 16,999/- 17,999/-
Oppo A6c 4G (4GB/128GB) 18,999/- 19,999/-

The Reno 16c packs the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC. Built on a 4nm process, this chipset can boost up to 2.5GHz. It also packs the ARM Mali-G615 MC2 iGPU, which can handle your gaming and graphics needs.

On the other hand, the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset in the A6 5G variants is built on a 6nm process and can boost up to 2.4GHz. However, it packs a much weaker ARM Mali-G57 MC2 iGPU.

Under normal circumstances, it would be outrageous to pay over 30,000 rupees for a processor with a Mali-G57 iGPU, or close to 20,000 rupees for a 4G phone in 2026. However, because of the current memory crisis, almost all brands are passing the extra manufacturing cost on to consumers, leading to constant price increases for smartphones from popular brands. Thus, under the current circumstances, the prices seem justified.

Do note that the article is based on a leaker’s post. Smartphone brands usually do not publish press releases or social media announcements for price increases. Instead, they communicate with dealers through dealer memos. So, while the X post looks like a leaked dealer memo, there is no official confirmation about the price increase. Therefore, readers are advised to take the information shared in the article with a grain of salt.
