Hulu‘s popularity could be attributed to its vast collection of great older TV shows and movies and some top-notch original shows, including Only Murders in the Building, Paradise and The Handmaid’s Tale. The platform’s collaboration with FX has also produced some of the platform’s most prestigious and popular shows, including The Bear, Reservation Dogs and Shogun.
This May, the charming and often heartfelt docuseries Welcome to Wrexham, which co-stars Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, returns for a fifth season. Another familiar face, Abbott Elementary’s Lisa Ann Walter, will be dropping her very first stand-up comedy special on May 15 on the platform.
And if you love a good British drama, get ready because Hulu’s got a couple of great ones this month, including the original drama Rivals, which stars David Tennant as a ruthless 1980s businessman, and The Split, a BBC series now available in its entirety in the US on Hulu.
Here’s a look at when you can watch these titles and more of Hulu’s new releases in May.

The Spiit
The BBC legal series The Split is one of two great shows out of England that are arriving on Hulu this month. The series centers on the members of the Defoe family, who all work at the same divorce law firm, except for one family member, their sister Hannah (Nicola Walker), who works for a rival firm. The critically acclaimed series is compelling and easy to marathon — three short seasons and one TV special, all of which are available starting May 11.

Welcome to Wrexham, Season 5
Welcome to Wrexham, the docuseries about Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s purchase of a Welsh soccer team and their quest to get the team promoted within the ranks of the English Football League, returns for a fifth season on May 14. The show and the team began as a scrappy endeavor, but thanks to exposure from the series and Reynolds and McElhenney’s investment in the team, they’re underdogs no more. The team has received three back-to-back promotions in the EFL, an unprecedented run, and they now compete in the Championship League. The question is, will they make it to the Premier League this year?

Deli Boys, Season 2
The second season of Hulu’s acclaimed comedy series Deli Boys arrives this month, and this season, Andrew Rannells and Kumail Nanjiani join as recurring guest stars, while Lilly Singh and Robin Thede also appear. Back in Season 1, brothers Mir and Raj (Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh) inherited their father’s business after he died, not realizing that in addition to running a successful chain of delis, he was also a drug lord. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Disney Plus is already the streaming home to the entire Star Wars film and TV universe. In case you don’t subscribe or have a bundle that includes it, you can now watch Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as well as Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi on Hulu — no Disney subscription needed. While the three original films are obvious classics, we love Rogue One, mainly because it introduced us to Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), who is also the star of the prequel series Andor, which might be one of the best shows around.
- Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope
- Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
- Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

- Alien: Romulus
