Oppo took the wraps off its latest tablet entries with the Pad 5 Pro and Pad Mini. Pad 5 Pro is Oppo’s flagship slate featuring a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a 13.2-inch LCD and a sizeable 13,380mAh battery with 67W charging. Pad Mini is a more compact version with an 8.8-inch AMOLED, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (non-Elite) and an 8,000 mAh cell with the same charging speeds as the Pad 5 Pro.

Pad 5 Pro is the logical successor to last year’s Pad 4 Pro, which eventually made its way internationally as the OnePlus Pad 3, and it seems we’ll see a similar scenario soon with the upcoming OnePlus Pad 4.

Back to the Pad 5 Pro, it brings Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.

Pad 5 Pro is built around a 13.2″ display with 3,392 x 2,400px resolution, a 7:5 aspect ratio and a 30-144Hz adaptive refresh rate. Oppo claims it can produce up to 1,000 nits peak brightness with Dolby Vision and HDR Vivid support.

You get stylus support via the optional Oppo Pencil 3, and you can also opt for the magnetic floating keyboard for added productivity. Oppo is also offering an optional matte display version.

Oppo added an eight-speaker setup alongside dual microphones for optimal voice pickup. The camera department remains unchanged from last year, with a 13MP rear shooter and an 8MP front-facing sensor.

You do get a larger 13,380 mAh battery this year, which still sports 67W charging. You’re also treated to Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless connectivity as well as Android 16 with ColorOS 16.

Oppo Pad Mini

If you’re the type of user who does not want to carry around a 10”+ tablet, Oppo’s Pad Mini is the latest compact Android tablet to tempt you. It features an 8.8-inch AMOLED with 2,520×1,680 px resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 60-144Hz adaptive refresh rate. It features 2.99mm thick bezels and packs an 8MP front-facing camera integrated inside a punch-hole cutout. Like the Pad 5 Pro, Oppo is offering a matte display version.

Under the hood, Oppo Pad Mini brings the non-elite Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, which is paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. There’s a single 13MP rear camera alongside an LED flash.

Pad Mini features an 8,000 mAh battery that supports 67W wired charging and boots ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.

Pricing and availability

Oppo Pad 5 Pro comes in Gold, Brown and Purple colors. It starts at CNY 4,299 ($630) for the 8/256GB trim and goes up to CNY 5,499 ($806) for the top-tier 16/512GB trim.

Oppo Pad Mini is available in Space Gray, Purple, and Green colors. It starts at CNY 3,699 ($542) for the 8/256GB trim and goes up to CNY 4,499 ($660) for the 12/512GB version.

Both tablets are available from Oppo’s official online store in China, with first sales there scheduled for April 24.
