Motorola is adding a Moto G47 Power alongside the Moto G47 ($193 on Amazon), with one major upgrade in particular: the battery grows from 5,200 mAh to 7,000 mAh. The battery charges via USB-C at up to 30 watts, while the Moto G47 Power can also be used as a power bank to charge other devices at up to 6 watts.
Motorola advertises a battery life of 78 hours, or over three days, but does not specify the usage conditions under which this runtime is achieved. The larger battery makes the smartphone slightly thicker and heavier, at 8.89 millimeters and 215 grams. The case is still only IP64-certified, meaning it is not fully waterproof. Aside from the battery, the Moto G47 Power offers three particularly interesting features: a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a microSD slot and a 108-megapixel f/1.7 main camera, although this is accompanied by only a 2 MP sensor and an 8 MP selfie camera.
Motorola cuts back a little on the rest of the specifications. The Moto G47 Power uses a MediaTek Dimensity 6300, paired with just 4 GB of RAM. While the 6.67-inch IPS panel offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz, its resolution is only 1,604 x 720 pixels. The fingerprint sensor is located on the side of the phone. The mid-range smartphone offers GPS, NFC and two Nano-SIM slots.
Pricing and availability
The Motorola Moto G47 Power is offered exclusively with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash storage, in a choice of Pantone Capri (turquoise), Pantone Nautical Blue (blue) or Pantone Impenetrable (black). The smartphone is available in the EU for €339 and in the UK for £299.
