In September, we reported about the existence of the Motorola Edge 70 Neo after the company confirmed its India launch was planned for the coming months. Now, we have exclusively learnt the phone’s specifications and colour options from tipster Sanju Choudhary. The Edge 70 Neo is expected to come with a 7,000mAh battery, a 144Hz display and a 50MP Sony LYTIA primary camera and will be available in four Pantone colours.

As per Sanju, the Motorola Edge 70 Neo will feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K display with a 144Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. As previously confirmed on Geekbench, the phone will run on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The processor launched in 2024 and has already appeared in phones such as the Nothing Phone (3a) and Redmi Note 14 Pro+. While it should handle everyday tasks comfortably, it is an older mid-range chip, so buyers looking for the latest processing hardware may want to compare alternatives before making a decision.

For photography, the phone is said to feature a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, alongside a 2MP macro camera and a three-in-one light sensor. A 32MP front camera is expected. The primary sensor looks promising on paper, but the absence of a dedicated telephoto camera could be a limitation for those who regularly shoot distant subjects.

The Edge 70 Neo could pack a 7,000mAh battery with 45W charging. That is a substantial capacity for a mid-range phone, although charging speeds are more modest than those offered by some rivals. The phone is said to measure 8.49 mm thick and weigh 204 gms, with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. Other expected features include Android 16, four major Android OS updates and five years of security updates. Memory options could include 6GB and 8GB RAM, with 128GB and 256GB storage configurations.

The phone will come in four Pantone colours: Mountain View, Milky Blue, Sage and Gray Lilac.

Launch and India availability

Motorola confirmed the Edge 70 Neo’s upcoming India launch in a press release in September during IFA 2026. The phone has also appeared on Geekbench with a Qualcomm chipset identifier associated with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, 6GB RAM and Android 16.

The Motorola Edge 60 Neo launched globally in September 2025 with a smaller 6.36-inch 120Hz pOLED display, a 5,200mAh battery and a more versatile rear camera setup that included a telephoto lens, but didn’t come to India. The Edge 70 Neo’s reported specifications suggest Motorola is prioritising screen size and battery capacity this time, though the larger body may disappoint those who prefer compact phones.

Motorola hasn’t announced the Edge 70 Neo’s price or exact India launch date. Its battery capacity and display could make it worth considering for users who prioritise endurance and smooth scrolling, but the final price will determine how it compares with newer mid-range phones offering faster processors or more capable camera systems.
