Washington, Oct. 29 (SANA)  Google has introduced a new platform allowing developers to integrate their applications with its Gemini AI assistant and search engine, enabling users to perform tasks across different services without switching between apps.

The Connected Apps Platform, announced Wednesday, is available in a limited preview for developers in the United States, according to technology news website TechCrunch.

The platform allows developers to register, test and submit applications for review before making them accessible through Gemini, Google Search or both.

Users can connect third-party services to carry out tasks directly through Google’s platforms, such as creating designs with Canva or building playlists on YouTube Music.

Developers can integrate their services using cloud-hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers or Android’s AppFunctions APIs.

A centralized dashboard, Google Connected Console, allows developers to manage applications and monitor usage, response times and error rates while maintaining control over branding and account authentication.

Google said more than 50 connected apps are already available across Gemini and Search, including integrations with Adobe, Experian and Peloton, alongside its own services.

The company plans to expand the availability of connected apps through Google Search in the coming weeks, while meditation and wellness app Calm is expected to join both platforms.

Google said access to the developer platform would expand gradually to additional developers, markets and products, although no timetable for wider availability has been announced.

The initiative reflects a broader shift toward AI-powered services that can perform tasks on users’ behalf by connecting applications through a single interface.
