What is Amazon’s Big Spring Sale?
Amazon frequently runs sales several times during the year, and currently has tons of products discounted ahead of Presidents’ Day. The company’s most popular Prime Day sales occur in October and July.
In 2024, Amazon introduced the Big Spring Sale, signaling a new annual event in March on the retail giant’s calendar. It was not a Prime-exclusive event. However, like the last two years, there will be exclusive Prime member offers, denoted by a “Prime Spring Deal” badge. Unlike Prime Day, the spring sale runs for a week, not just two.
This year, you can shop tons of deals across almost every product category upwards to 40% off or more, especially seasonally-appropriate categories like outdoor & garden, home, beauty and fashion, and more.
How long is the Amazon Spring Sale?
Amazon’s 2026 Big Spring Sale is a multi-day shopping event that will stretch from Wednesday, March 25, to Tuesday, March 31, 2026, Amazon confirmed.
What are the dates of Amazon’s Big Spring Sale?
The dates of Amazon’s Big Spring Sale are Wednesday, March 25, to Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
- In 2025, the event ran from March 25-31.
- In 2024, the Big Spring sale ran from March 20-25.
Do I have to be a Prime member to shop Amazon’s Big Spring Sale?
No, you don’t have to be a Prime member to shop this sale event. All customers can shop the Amazon Big Spring Sale, although, as in years past, Prime members have special access to select exclusive deals, denoted by a “Prime Spring Deal” badge on the site.
If you’re not a Prime member yet, you can join before the Big Spring Sale kickoff to receive member benefits like free shipping, entertainment, exclusive savings, and more.
How much is an Amazon Prime membership?
Amazon Prime costs $15 per month, or you can purchase an annual membership for $139, to save several dollars.
College students and those aged 18-24 can get a discount via Prime for Young Adults and pay nearly $8 per month or $69 per year. In addition, those with qualifying government assistance (including select seniors) can receive a Prime membership at a discount.
How can I maximize my savings during the Big Spring Sale?
As a deals and shopping editor, I can recommend a few tips to help you maximize your sales on Amazon. If you want to shop the sale, you should consider getting a Prime account, even if the Big Spring Sale isn’t a Prime-exclusive event. In addition to free two-day shipping, membership is easy to set up and gives you access to exclusive offers on the site. Plus, you can use a free trial to shop for the best savings without spending a dime on a membership.
If you end up starting a free trial (or already have Prime), ensure your payment options (like one-click settings and your default delivery address) are correct. This way, you can check out quickly if needed during the sale. Other ways to prepare for spring savings include researching and planning potential purchases, listing want and need items, and setting a budget before sales.
How can I find discounted electronics during the Amazon Spring Sale?
There are a few ways to catch flagship tech gear and gadgets on discount during Amazon’s spring sale. Scouring the Big Spring Sale homepage will help surface popular deals and filter search results. You’ll also be able to shop competing sale events from other retailers as more deal events begin to fill up the March calendar. Keeping up with deals and discounts vetted by ZDNET’s team of experts is another way to find the best deals that will surface on Amazon during the Spring Sale. We’ll be working around the clock to surface the best offers as they come up, including lightning deals and limited-time offers.
Are Amazon’s Spring Sale deals worth it?
The validity and “worthiness” of Amazon’s Spring Sale deals won’t be measurable until these deals begin to go live, but based on past history, it’s not a flimsy event. While it’s true that Prime Day events typically offer some of the best savings, particularly on Amazon’s flagship tech — like Fire Sticks, Fire tablets and TVs, and Echo devices — the Big Spring Sale also offers some degree of discount on popular devices.
The first year Amazon held the Big Spring Sale, we saw the best prices of the year on select Kindle models, and last year we saw discounts up to 40% or more across key categories, especially outdoor, home, and tech, as the retailer prepped for warmer weather, seasonal travel, and more. This year, we’re already seeing some solid early offers, like 62% off Carrera Smart Glasses and 55% off the Fire Stick 4K model. While it’s likely some poor deals will slip through due to Amazon’s multi-seller platform, AI tools like Rufus and price history make it easier to verify deals. Plus, trusty resources like CamelCamelCamel are always available to price check.
When is the next Prime Day?
If Amazon sticks to its typical sale calendar, the next Prime Day sale (and the first of 2026) will likely be in July. However, there are still a few more chances to save until then, including during the Big Spring Sale.
Amazon Spring Sale vs. Prime Day: Which sales are better?
Historically, Amazon runs two Prime Day events. One is in October, and the other is in July. The retailer’s flagship Prime Day events traditionally offered some of the largest savings of the year on tons of categories ranging from home, apparel, tech, and beyond, but over the years, many have called out a decreased quality of deals and an increase in sour tactics, like inflating prices before a sale to fabricate illegitimate “discounts.”
On the flip side, the Amazon Spring Sale, unlike Prime Day events, is open to all customers, not just Prime members. It also traditionally features a focus on Easter and early Spring savings, especially across related categories like outdoor, garden, home, and more. You’ll still find deals across tech, beauty, and more, but the event is designed to maximize the spring season.
It’s hard to compare which event offers “better” deals, since it depends on what you’re looking for, but generally, flagship Amazon devices see better savings during Prime Day. Regardless of when you shop, there’s more onus on the consumer than ever before to vet and verify deals, compare prices, and use tools like Rakuten to take advantage of cash-back offers when applicable — even when shopping Amazon’s sales.
What types of deals can I find during the Amazon Big Spring Sale?
This year, Amazon highlights savings across numerous categories, including beauty, fashion, home, lawn and garden, tech, and more. Shoppers can expect discounts of up to 40% off (and sometimes more), like up to 40% off fashion, up to 30% off beauty, up to 35% off kitchen, and up to 25% off home. Plus, new Doorbuster deals start at 40% off in categories like electronics, and more.
The sale will also include refreshed daily deal drops so customers can snag deals from top brands. New this year are three new “Top 100+” deals lists, incorporating curated collections of seasonal picks: one overall, one in health and wellness, and one for spring favorites. The retailer will also share doorbuster deals starting at 40% off across fashion, beauty, electronics, and more.
Amazon specified a few key categories customers can shop, like up to 50% off Amazon Outlet, up to 40% off Easter, up to 35% off kitchen, up to 25% off home, up to 30% off lawn & garden, and even up to 25% off grocery.
Last week, Amazon’s UK version of the sale, Spring Deal Days, ran from March 10-16, and the retailer advertised deals we’ll likely see again across the pond when the US sale begins. Amazon UK detailed that shoppers can expect “up to 40% across categories including everyday essentials, home and kitchen, sports and outdoors, beauty, toys, fashion, and electronics,” across brands like “Bose, Dyson, Elemis, ghd, LEGO, Ninja, Oral-B, Shark, Sony, and Tommee Tippee.”
What are the best Amazon Spring Sale deals?
ZDNET’s experts will be searching through Amazon’s Spring Sale deals to find the best discounts by category when they become available. We’ll kick off our early sale coverage a week ahead of the sale’s scheduled start time.
What product categories are typically included in the Spring Sale?
There’s savings to be had across dozens of categories, but an emphasis on spring-related categories like home, outdoor, lawn and garden, and Easter takes precedence during the Spring sale. You can still shop discounts of up to 40% off select items across categories, including apparel, beauty, technology, and more, but a larger emphasis is placed on the spring season. Last year, popular offers included savings on Amazon devices, kitchen appliances, electronics, cleaning and organizing gear, and more, and we’ll have to see how this year shakes out.
Are other retailers participating in Amazon’s Spring Sale?
Last year, several retailers jumped on the spring sale train and offered seasonal savings that overlapped with, preceded, or followed Amazon’s Big Spring Sale. We saw concurrent sales from other major competitors like Target, Walmart, and Best Buy. Expect many retailers to continue dropping prices to match Amazon’s and give customers like you a choice of where to buy. We’ll keep you posted as competing sales arise.
Why trust ZDNET to help you shop?
As a member of the ZDNET staff, I only write about deals that I or a team member would want to buy — devices and products we desire, need, or would recommend. I look for deals where products are at least 20% off (or are hardly ever on sale), using established price-comparison tools and trackers to determine whether the deal is on sale and how often it drops.
I also look over customer reviews to see what matters to real people who already own and use the products in the deals I recommend. These recommendations may also be based on my testing (or that of another ZDNET expert), along with extensive research and comparison shopping. The goal is to deliver the most accurate advice to help you shop smarter. ZDNET offers 33 years of experience, 30 hands-on product reviewers, and 10,000 square feet of lab space to ensure we bring you the best tech.
Plus, in 2026, ZDNET refined its approach to deals, developing a measurable system for sharing savings with readers like you. Our editor’s deal rating badges are affixed to most of our deal content, making it easy to interpret our expertise to help you make the best purchase decision.
