After a very, very short announcement window, the iPhone 17e is now officially available to preorder at Apple and other leading retailers. This device is perfect if you’re looking for a powerful iPhone that doesn’t break the bank, and even better still, there are some great opening deals to consider.

You can check out today’s best iPhone 17e preorder deals just down below. Highlights include a free device with a new line at Verizon (no trade-in needed), a free phone for new customers at T-Mobile, and up to $685 off with a trade-in at Apple – a particularly good option for an unlocked device.

Over in the UK, readers can get a respectable £585 off with a trade-in at the official Apple Store. That’s the maximum rebate, of course, so don’t expect to hit that saving unless you’re handing over a particularly valuable device.

What’s new with the iPhone 17e?

  • Same A19 chipset as the iPhone 17
  • Magsafe support
  • Upgraded wireless charging
  • Now starts with 256GB of storage

As expected, the new iPhone 17e is a relatively modest update rather than a major redesign, but it keeps the same $599 / £599 starting price while introducing a handful of meaningful upgrades. Most notably, it now runs on the new A19 chip, which is the same processor from the standard iPhone 17e – bringing the 17e in line with Apple’s latest generation in terms of performance.

Beyond the chipset, Apple has made a few practical improvements. The iPhone 17e’s base storage has been bumped up to 256GB with no price increase. Wireless charging also gets a welcome boost with full MagSafe support at up to 15W, replacing the slower 7.5W Qi charging found on its predecessor. The rear camera hardware remains largely the same, though Apple has added its next-generation portrait features with enhanced Focus and Depth Control.

Design-wise, the iPhone 17e sticks closely to the 16e’s formula, with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display, aluminum frame, and Action button. However, it now uses second-generation Ceramic Shield glass for improved scratch resistance and reduced glare, and introduces a new “soft pink” color alongside black and white. Overall, the iPhone 17e is an incremental refresh focused on internal refinements rather than dramatic changes, but considering it’s the same price as before, it’s definitely a good budget option.
