Back in 2023, Infinix unveiled the Explorer Satellite Communication Technology with support for two-way text messaging in remote areas. Now the company introduces the more advanced Infinix Satellite Communication system.
In addition to two-way texts, the new system also supports high-definition voice calls. For added convenience, the system offers Speaker Mode and Bluetooth headset calling. Additionally, there’s wind suppression that helps pick up your voice clearly even in windy environments.
The upcoming Infinix Note 60 series will be the first to feature the satellite communication system. Right now, it’s not clear whether that means the whole series or just select models like the Pininfarina-designed Infinix Note 60 Ultra.
The Infinix Satellite Communication is projected to cover around two-thirds of the Earth’s surface. It will reach 4Kbps transmission speeds – that doesn’t sound like much, but again, it is enough for HD voice calls. Also, it will be able to seamlessly switch between cell and satellite connectivity.
Infinix says that you will be able to use the satellite connectivity without additional registrations – more details to follow.
