Huawei’s nova 15 series is now official in China as the latest midrange offerings from the brand. There are three members for now with the vanilla nova 15, the nova 15 Pro and the nova 15 Ultra. The trio debuts Huawei’s new “dual-ring” design language alongside updated cameras, faster chipsets and larger batteries.

Huawei nova 15 Ultra and nova 15 Pro
This year’s nova 15 Ultra and nova 15 Pro share most of their key specs. These include 6.84-inch LTPO OLEDs with 1,320 x 2,856 px resolution and a 1-120Hz refresh rate. They feature 4,000 nits peak local brightness and are protected by Kunlun glass. The pill-shaped cutout houses a 50MP selfie shooter, which is joined by a 1.5MP multispectral sensor.
Around the back, the nova 15 series brings Huawei’s new “dual-ring” design, with the nova 15 Ultra featuring three 50MP RYYB sensors. The main lens gets a variable f/1.4 – f/4.0 aperture and OIS. The telephoto periscope features 3.7x optical zoom, and you also get an ultrawide lens with a 118-degree field of view.

Nova 15 Pro gets a 50MP RYYB main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS alongside a 12MP RYYB telephoto and a 13MP RYYB ultrawide lens. Both phones are IP68 and IP69-rated against water and dust.
Nova 15 Ultra and nova 15 Pro get Huawei’s new Kirin 9010S chipset which promises an 18% performance boost over the Kirin 8020 found on their predecessors. The pair features satellite connectivity and boots HarmonyOS 6.0 out of the box.
Both phones also get 6,500mAh silicon carbon batteries with 100W wired charging, with the Ultra model also supporting 50W wireless top-ups.

Nova 15 is built around a 6.7-inch OLED with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s a single punch hole cut out for the 50MP selfie cam. The back houses a 50MP RYYB main camera alongside a 12MP RYYB telephoto lens and a 1.5MP multispectral color sensor.
Nova 15 is equipped with Huawei’s Kirin 8020 chipset – the same SoC used in the nova 14 Pro and nova 14 Ultra which Huawei claims should offer up to 42% better performance over the nova 14’s Kirin 8000 chip. Nova 15 also supports satellite connectivity just like its Pro and Ultra siblings.

The software side is handled by HarmonyOS 6.0. In terms of battery, you get a 6,000mAh cell with 100W wired charging. Huawei also retained the IP65 ingress protection.

The nova 15 series is available for pre-order on Vmall with shipments scheduled for December 27. Huawei is not expected to bring over the nova 15 devices outside of China.
