The iPhone Fold is finally portrayed in the first CAD-based render, which you can see below. This was outed along with CAD drawings intended for case and other accessory makers, which reveal the device’s very unusual dimensions.
As previously rumored, Apple wanted to ensure that the inner screen isn’t a square, and when you unfold the phone you will be in landscape mode. This might ensure compatibility with iPad apps from day one without the need for developers to make any modifications – this is just us speculating, but that would make sense.
Apple iPhone Fold CAD measurements
The iPhone Fold’s inner folding screen measures 7.76″ diagonally and has a resolution of 2713×1920. The cover display is 5.49″ and has 1422×2088 resolution, for a very unusual aspect ratio. The iPhone Fold measures 120.6 x 83.8 x 9.6 mm when folded, and 120.6 x 167.6 x 4.8 mm when unfolded.
You can also see the outline of the in-display selfie camera embedded into the main screen, while the cover display will get a hole-punch for its selfie snapper. The iPhone Fold has two rear cameras arranged in an iPhone Air-like oval-shaped bar.
The iPhone Fold may be introduced in September, but multiple recent rumors have claimed it wouldn’t hit the market until early 2027.
