Xiaomi’s 17 Ultra has already been rumored to arrive much earlier than its predecessor, which got official in late February. Now, a new rumor from one of Weibo’s most prolific leakers claims to shed a light on exactly when we should expect it to arrive.
Xiaomi will apparently start taking blind reservations for the device on December 15, and that will go on up until December 25. Thus, the phone’s announcement is allegedly going to happen on December 26.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is said to cost exactly as much as its predecessor in China. Obviously, we don’t yet know if this will also be the case internationally. Speaking of its global launch, when that will happen is also still a mystery.
Up until now the Ultras were unveiled in China a few days before the global launch taking place at MWC in Barcelona, but that’s in early March next year so we’re wondering whether we’ll actually have to wait that long or if Xiaomi will do a special event sooner. We’ll let you know when we know more.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra should of course be the brand’s all-out camera flagship, and it’s expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. A picture showing a prototype inside a heavy-duty case leaked a few days ago, showing an unsurprisingly huge camera island.
