Supplemental Security Income is a program designed to help individuals with low income or resources or those with qualifying disabilities. The application process can take time and requires several pieces of information to determine if you qualify, but once approved, monthly payments will be sent as long as you’re still eligible. There’s also a cap on how much you can receive in SSI money each month, which depends on your income and resources.
