A recent report from Korea, via SamMobile, has revealed several new theories regarding the long-rumored Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Samsung may begin production of this phone, which will be its first “fan edition” foldable, as early as next month.
According to the report, Samsung plans to produce up to 170,000 units of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, compared to 240,000 units for the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7. These production numbers suggest that Samsung expects the standard Flip 7 to outsell the FE variant, keeping it as the company’s top-selling foldable device.
There has been considerable speculation about Samsung potentially using the Exynos 2500 chip in the Galaxy Z Flip 7 series, indicating that the company is seriously considering adopting it exclusively. This decision could have significant implications for Samsung’s future chip development, particularly regarding the prospects of the 2nm Exynos 2600 SoC.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 currently uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Samsung has never produced a foldable phone using one of its Exynos-branded chips.
Recent rumors indicate that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE may come with 8GB of RAM, which is less than the 12GB found in the flagship Flip 7 model. The Z Flip 7 FE is likely to feature the same camera system as the Flip 5 from 2023, including a 12MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP selfie camera. However, some sources suggest it might include a 50MP primary sensor paired with a 12MP ultrawide, though these details have not been fully confirmed.
Additionally, the Z Flip 7 FE is expected to have a 3.4-inch cover screen, slightly smaller than the 3.6-inch display on the flagship Galaxy Z Flip 7. The inner foldable display is anticipated to be a 6.7-inch panel.
The Z Flip 7 FE is projected to be priced around $200–$300 less than the flagship Flip 7, likely launching between $799 and $899. This would make it one of the most affordable foldable smartphones in Samsung’s lineup. Some sources suggest that the Flip FE will essentially be a Flip 5 with an updated system-on-chip (SoC).
Overall, the Z Flip 7 FE appears to be Samsung’s effort to provide a more budget-friendly foldable option while still preserving the core flip design that has made the series popular.

Samsung’s hyped budget foldable phone finally shows its face
Samsung, it seems, is ready to open its budget foldable phone innings under the “Fan Edition” banner later this year. So far, we’ve only heard murmurs of a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE being in development, but we finally may have our first purported look at the real thing.
The folks over at SammyGuru (with leakster OnLeaks) have shared what they claim to be CAD-based renders of the upcoming phone, alongside a video depicting it from all angles. From the looks, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will likely duplicate the vanilla Galaxy Z Flip 6’s design language.
Staying close to home
As per the latest leak, the affordable foldable offering will reportedly offer a 3.4-inch cover display and a 6.7-inch inner foldable panel. The only major difference is that the FE trim could be slightly narrower, but a tad thicker (7.4mm vs 6.9mm) than the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Samsung leak hints at the future of foldable phones
In the last few years, foldable phones have gone from a dream to a reality that makes them an attractive option for everyday use — however, they are still limited in many ways. One big limitation of the hardware is that they generally fold only in one direction, collapsing inward to protect the screen when they are carried around in a pocket or bag. A new patent from Samsung shows how the phone giant is planning to tackle this limitation, with an ultrathin devices which folds in two directions.
The Samsung patent was spotted by Atlyginimo Skaiciuokle and @xleaks7, who shared the details of the technology that is currently being worked on. The idea is to create a device with a foldable screen that can either be folded either inward for protection, or outward for better visibility. Instead of the usual 180 degree folding available on current devices, the new model would have a foldable display that could rotate a full 360 degrees, allowing more options for how it is used.

One UI 7 beta is coming to an affordable Samsung phone soon
Samsung’s One UI 7, currently limited to devices launched in 2025, will reach more devices very soon. The update Android 15-based update will start rolling out to older devices in April, starting with the Galaxy S24 series on April 10. While the initial set of phones and tablets eligible for the One UI 7 update only includes flagships, affordable phones won’t be far behind.
As Samsung prioritizes on making stable One UI 7 available on its flagship Galaxy S, Z Fold, Z Flip, and Tab S lineups, it is also likely to begin testing the update on a non-flagship phone from last year. Dedicated pages in the One UI 7 beta forums have recently gone live for Galaxy A55, indicating it might be the first in line when Samsung broadens its release.
