The Redmi K80 Series is officially announced today to be released next week. Last year Redmi launched the K70 Series which was well received by the consumers. The phones brought improved design and durability, screen, performance, and imaging. Now everyone is looking forward to the Redmi K80 Series and we finally have some official details to share.
Redmi has announced that the entire Redmi K80 Series will feature a 2K M9 LTPS display co-developed with TCL Huaxing. This means that both the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro will significantly upgrade the screen. The new M9 display material promises a 20% decrease in power consumption. Moreover the K80 Series will also feature a 1800 nits global peak brightness.
Redmi has also paid special attention to screen’s eye protection, featuring industries first 2K + full brightness DC dimming + circular polarisation technology. The display is also certified with three TUV Rheinland certifications for better eye protection.
Additionally, the brand has also confirmed that the both Redmi K80 and K80 Pro will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner which is a major upgrade over previous generation short focus optical fingerprint scanner. For now we can expect that the vanilla Redmi K80 will feature the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor whereas the Pro variant will feature the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor.Both the Redmi K80 Series phones will feature a triple camera setup with 50MP as the primary camera. However, the good news is that this time vanilla Redmi K80 will also have a Telephoto camera and the Pro variant will upgrade the Telephoto to a 50MP 3X telephoto camera. This is a great upgrade to the imaging of both phones.
Another highlight feature of the Redmi K80 Series is the battery and charging capabilities. Redmi K80 Series will feature a 6000mAh above battery with Pro having 50W wireless charging support as well. The Redmi K80 Pro will be the first Redmi phone with Xiaomi’s Longjing glass. Xiaomi’s Longjing Glass offers better drop resistance than Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 or even Apple ceramic shield glass.
