Small foldable Huawei notebook to feature a cover display and less weight

Huawei is expected to launch a small, lightweight foldable notebook with a cover display, making it interactive and portable, according to Weibo blogger FixedFocusDigital.
Last year, Huawei introduced the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design, the world’s first foldable PC, featuring the HarmonyOS operating system. It has a large 18-inch display with 4.3 apect ratio and folds to a 3:2 aspect ratio for a laptop-like experience.
The display offers 1600 nits of peak HDR brightness, a 92% screen-to-body ratio, and 3.3 K resolution, but the device weighs 1.16kg. The tipster says the small foldable PC would weigh around 600g, almost half the weight of the MateBook Fold.

The new device would bring a cover display, while the first-gen has only the main folding screen. That said, the next-gen could keep the device functional when it’s closed.

This would make this folding PC look like the Pura X Max, Huawei’s foldable smartphone with a 7.7-inch main display and a 5.4-inch cover screen. However, the new PC might have a larger tablet display. The current test model has a dual-tone design that improves the overall appearance over the predecessor.
In October, Huawei registered a small-size HarmonyOS PC model with SPN-W52, which could be released next month, but no official date has been announced.
