Reliable leakers say “OSTA” will be Huawei’s smartphone sub-brand name

Huawei will soon unveil its smartphone sub-brand, Xingmang AKA Starlight, and its English name is reported as OSTA, as confirmed by well-known leakers Digital Chat Station and Fixed Focus Digital.

The brand’s English name was also rumored to be “Starburst,” but that appears to be fake or a color name now, since we now have more reliable input.

The company plans to debut the OSTA sub-brand with two models: OSTA 01 and 01 Pro. These will be non-foldable devices; the OSTA O1 will feature a quad-curved screen and a large circular camera.

The OSTA O1 Pro will be the wide-screen device with narrow bezels on all four sides and a horizontal camera strip on the rear. The phone closely resembles the Pura X View, featuring a 6.39-inch 1.5K LTPS flat panel and a 16:9.5 aspect ratio.

The OSTA O1 will come in four models: 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB. Tpster DCS also said the specs and prices for the O1 Pro are on par with the Huawei flagship. This might be due to sky-high memory prices.

The leaker also shared an image of the retail box showing the name “OSTA O1 Pro” with a high-end configuration.

On a related note, the first wave of these OSTA brand products is mentioned to be flagship-grade.

A few users asked whether Huawei will give up its wide-screen phone portfolio to the OSTA brand. However, the tipster denied that the device will continue under the main brand.
