Huawei’s new sub-brand to launch a flagship phone with high price

Huawei’s new smartphone sub-brand series is expected to launch a flagship phone with a not-so-pocket-friendly price. While the sub-brand’s name continues to be a mystery, a new leak gives more insight into its market positioning.

Weibo leaker DigitalChatStation reported that Huawei’s new sub-brand series will introduce a flagship-grade phone with top specs and a high price. The upcoming lineup was rumored to be cost-effective. However, the latest leak says otherwise.

The tipster suggests that the Starburst or Starlight phone’s specifications will be equivalent to those of a top-tier device. It may showcase competitive internal specs and features at a pricey rate.

A netizen speculated the price to be around 8000 yuan in the comments section following the leak. It looks like the new sub-brand phone series will launch models with different price ranges, from flagship-grade to a cost-effective one.

Earlier, the Huawei Starburst or Starlight was said to be priced below the Pura X View and launch as a cost-effective alternative in the market, targeting young customers.

But the latest leak points to a flagship phone from the new lineup. The tipster hasn’t revealed any other details or specifications of the upcoming handset in the current post.

Huawei sub-brand’s first phone is expected to be a Pura X View twin with a wide-screen form factor. It can use a 6.39-inch LTPS display with a 16:9.5 aspect ratio to enhance the viewing experience for gaming and movie lovers.

The device may come in three shades: White, Black, and Purple. It could sport up to four RAM and storage variants, including 12GB+512GB, 12GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB. In addition, the device could bring advanced cooling specs.

Huawei hasn’t announced the new sub-brand yet. Though it is said to debut in place of Honor with many notable upgrades. Other changes will show up in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
