Honor Magic 9 Pro Max debuts in Hong Kong with two 200MP cameras, smaller battery

Honor Magic 9 Pro Max launched in Hong Kong

Honor Magic 9 Pro Max has launched in Hong Kong ahead of its global debut. The flagship phone features two 200MP cameras, a 10000 nits bright screen, and the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip. But it can disappoint in battery.

Honor Magic 9 Pro Max debuts in Hong Kong with three color schemes: Moss Green, Silver Salt, and Shadow Black. It measures 161.64 x 76.98 x 8.59mm and weighs 233 grams. There’s no change in the device’s new cinematic camera appearance.

The device equips a 6.8-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ (1320 x 2868 pixels) resolution, 10000nits peak brightness, and 1.07 billion colors. Honor King Kong Giant Rhino Glass makes the phone’s screen 25 times drop-resistant and 15 times scratch-resistant.

Magic 9 Pro Max powers up with the all-new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset and Adreno 850 GPU. The octa-core processor has two Prime cores at 5.01GHz, three performance cores at 4.03GHz, and three performance cores at 3.74GHz.

In terms of camera setup, the flagship sports a 200MP 1/1.28-inch wide-angle main lens, a 200MP telephoto sensor with 3.5x optical zoom + 200x digital zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle with a 122° field of view. The front face has a 55MP square sensor and a 3D depth-sensing lens.

The highlight is the battery, as the Magic 9 Pro Max Hong Kong variant features an 8000mAh cell capacity instead of an 8800mAh pack. The energy density is 905Wh/L with 100W wired and 80W SuperCharge fast charging.

Android 17-based MagicOS 11 further provides AI security and seamless high-speed data transfer with iPhone via AirDrop. A dedicated AI button allows users to capture moments in one go.

Honor Magic 9 Pro Max comes to Hong Kong in two RAM and storage variants: 12GB + 512GB costs HK$10999, and 16GB + 1TB is priced at HK$14999. Both options are available for pre-orders in Hong Kong and will be on sale by 19th November.
