  • Samsung’s unannounced Galaxy T1 sports earbuds have received FCC certification in the US.
  • The filings reveal prototype hardware details, Bluetooth testing results, and a charging case diagram.
  • Previous leaks suggest an ear-hook design, customizable controls, and a 595mAh charging case, although launch details remain unknown.

Samsung’s next workout earbuds are getting quite the regulatory workout themselves. After making stops in China, South Korea, and Indonesia, the mysterious ear-hook earbuds have now crossed another important finish line: US certification. And unlike previous sightings, this one gives us a closer look at what Samsung has been cooking.

The unannounced earbuds, identified by model number SM-R545 and codenamed Galaxy T1, received FCC approval on November 4, 2026. The filings cover both earbuds individually, under IDs ZCASMR545L and ZCASMR545R, marking their first known appearance in the US certification database.

Samsung isn’t exactly spilling its secrets, but the paperwork offers some interesting breadcrumbs. References to a “T1 Cable” and “T1 Project” confirm the leaked codename, while the charging cradle carries model number EP-QR545. Testing involved prototype hardware running firmware R545XXU0AZH1, with the earbuds achieving a Bluetooth range exceeding 14.5 meters under laboratory conditions. The documents also identify a 3.85V battery and 5V charging input from the cradle.

The filing also gives us something to look at: an earbud undergoing laboratory testing and a technical drawing of the charging case. These offer another glimpse of the hardware, though Samsung is keeping its more revealing product photos and user manual confidential until the rumored 2027 launch.

Previous reports had hinted at earbuds with a wrap-around hook designed to keep them secure during workouts. Earlier software discoveries also pointed to an Earbud Fit Test, customizable touch controls, roughly 63mAh batteries in each earbud, and a 595mAh charging case. But none of those features have been officially announced.

The US approval adds to a growing passport of certifications, following earlier appearances in China, South Korea, and Indonesia. It’s another strong indication that Samsung is preparing to bring these earbuds to multiple markets, including the US.

Samsung still hasn’t confirmed a retail name, price, or release date. An early 2027 debut alongside the Galaxy S27 series remains possible, though this remains speculation. For now, the Galaxy T1 has cleared another hurdle, and its US launch prospects look stronger than ever.
