November's classic movies on Apple TV include 'Interstellar' and 'Anchorman'
Apple has added more films free for Apple TV subscribers to watch, in what now definitely seems like a regular monthly extra.
Apple barely promotes this, and the details vary between countries, but it does add movies to Apple TV that it didn't make. Initially it was during COVID when it would get the rights to films related to Apple TV shows or genres.
Then in August 2026, Apple TV added a whole stack of classic films. As with most streamers, these films are licensed for a short period, rather than bought outright as Apple did with "CODA".
The license appears to be for only a very short time, though, as each time Apple adds some movies, it removes others. There's no clear pattern to it, either, as "Arrival" is being quoted as new this month, but it was also in August 2026's batch.
After four months of releases, it seems likely that this unannounced feature is set to continue. It's not only a US feature, too, as other countries get free movies, although so far they have different and substantially shorter lists.
As well as "Arrival," the headline movies in the US this time include "Interstellar," "Minority Report" and "12 Monkeys." It's not all science fiction, though, as the list also features comedies such as "Anchorman" and "Clueless."
While the films vary by country, they can all be found in the Apple TV app. On the app's Apple TV page, there is a section called "Great Movies Now on Apple TV," which lists them all.
Each is available to watch on demand for free, so long as you're a subscriber to Apple TV. But given that any or most of the films may be replaced at the end of the month, you need to plan your viewing to take advantage of the feature.
