CES 2026 is well underway, with brands teasing details of upcoming tech over the weekend. And three TVs have caught my eye as some of the most interesting displays of the entire event. From LG’s ultra-thin W6 Wallpaper OLED to Hisense’s industry-leading RGBY Mini-LED model, TVs have a bit more to offer this year than the usual AI add-ons and processor updates.

The ZDNET team went hands-on with several models to see for themselves if the new releases are worth the hype. Here’s the list, in no particular order.
The TCL X11L features both Micro RGB and SQD Mini LED technology for improved color accuracy and picture quality. With claims of producing up to 100% of the BT2020 color spectrum, you’ll get bolder, more lifelike images and less blooming or halo effects around bright objects on dark backgrounds.
It’s also equipped with an impressive 20,000 dimming zones, providing deeper contrast that can rival the best OLED models in the right environments. And with a peak brightness of 10,000 nits, you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite shows and movies in even the most harsh lighting.
To complement the improved picture quality, the TCL X11L features a built-in Bang & Olufsen soundbar and supports Dolby Atmos for rich, yet clean, virtual surround sound.

In one of the biggest TV flexes at the show this year, Samsung unveiled a massive 130-inch Micro RGB TV at its First Look event. The TV was set on a tilted metal rack, highlighting the vivid and bright colors for the pubic to see.
While the technical details of the Micro RGB TVs remain scarce — Samsung says this one is more of a concept to showcase the possibilities of the display technology — the company did share that the model shares the same Micro RGB AI Engine Pro processor and glare-free treatment as its smaller variants.
What’s certain is that we’ll be seeing more Micro RGB TVs later this week, and for the rest of 2026 — hopefully in some smaller sizes, too, for the sake of price and general accessibility.

The LG W6 Wallpaper is undoubtedly the belle of the ball at CES 2026, showing off an almost mind-bogglingly thin design that measures a mere 9mm in width. It achieves this by removing many of the bulky internal components that make up a high-end OLED TV and placing them in a wireless Zero Connect Box.
The box serves as both a video and audio receiver, as well as an HDMI hub for setting up all your favorite playback devices, such as Blu-ray players and gaming consoles. This also allows you to create a totally wireless setup in your home theater for an ultra-clean look and better organization.
The W6 Wallpaper boasts a 165Hz refresh rate (a first for true-wireless TVs), a 0.1ms response time, and support for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium VRR for console gaming. The all-new A11 AI Processor Gen 3 features enhanced machine learning capabilities, providing improved 4K upscaling, support for both Gemini and Copilot, and enhanced voice recognition.

The Hisense 163MX is the TV that most intrigues me. The company introduced an all-new, four-color MicroLED display capable of producing not only the standard reds, greens, and blues, but also yellow. By adding yellow LEDs, this allows the 163MX to produce up to 100% of the BT2020 color range (similar to the TCL X11L).
It also features a super-thin design, measuring just 32mm in width for zero-gap wall mounting and a better fit into aesthetic spaces. With 33.17 million subpixels, the Hisense 163MX will offer fine detailing and deep contrast that rivals high-end models from larger brands like LG, Sony, and Samsung.

The Samsung Movingstyle is an update to the brand’s existing portable TV, featuring a 27-inch touchscreen for ultimate control over your content and display. It also utilizes HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, and Samsung’s Object Tracking Sound Lite technology for crisp detailing and 3D virtual surround sound.
With it’s rolling and detachable design, the Movingstyle can follow you from room to room and even outdoor spaces for entertaining friends and family. It also features a 3-hour battery life so you don’t have to worry about keeping a wall plug nearby.
