The Oppo Reno16 series has made its debut in China. The lineup consists of the Reno16 Pro and the Reno16 for now. Both phones come with a triple rear camera setup with a 200MP main sensor, and are available in three color options.
While both phones share the same rear camera setup, other specifications remain different. The Reno16 Pro offers a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset.
On the other hand, the Reno16 sports a smaller 6.32-inch OLED panel and is equipped with the Dimensity 8550 Super SoC.
Both handsets offer up to 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, up to 3,600-nits of peak brightness, high-frequency PWM dimming, and come with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The rear camera setup on both phones is identical. There’s a primary 200MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto also with OIS, and a 50MP ultrawide unit with a 116-degree FoV. At the front, both phones offer a 50MP camera for selfies and video calling.
Internally, the Reno16 Pro packs a 7,000mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support. Meanwhile, the standard Reno16 gets a smaller 6,700mAh cell with 80W wired charging only.
Both phones run OriginOS 16 and come with features such as dual SIM 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, IR blaster, and IP69K ratings. Notably, the Reno16 Pro offers Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, whereas the Reno16 is limited to Wi-Fi 6.
The Oppo Reno16 Pro is available in Dreamy Blue, Heart-Fluttering Stars, and Moonlit Night Black colors.
Meanwhile, the Reno16 comes in Galaxy Purple, Heart-Fluttering Stars, and Moonlit Night Black shades.
Both phones are available for pre-order, and sales are set to kick off on May 29. The Reno16 Pro starts at CNY 4,499 ($660) for the 12GB/256GB option. The 12GB/512GB and 16GB/512GB options are priced at CNY 4,899 ($720) and CNY 5,299 ($780), respectively.
On the other hand, the Reno16 starts at CNY 3,499 ($515) for the 12GB/256GB model. It is also available in a 12GB/512GB model priced at CNY 3,999 ($590), a 16GB/256GB that’s CNY 3,899 ($575), and a 16GB/512GB variant that costs CNY 4,299 ($635). The high-end 16GB/1TB model is priced at CNY 4,899 ($720).
