Indian tech brand Ai+ announced a trio of new smartphones at a big launch event today. Nova Flip is the brand’s first foldable phone, opting for a flip-style design. Nova 2 and Nova 2 Ultra are conventional slab phones with 6,000mAh batteries, 5G connectivity and 50MP main cams.
Ai+ Nova Flip
This is the first foldable phone from the brand, and at first glance, it sure looks like a Nubia Flip 2. A closer examination of its specs reveals that’s the case, with the only exception being that the Nova Flip runs on nxtQ OS based on Android 15.
Outside of the software department, Ai+ Nova Flip shares the exact same specs as the nubia Flip 2, including a 6.9-inch foldable OLED main display (FHD+ 120Hz), MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300X chipset and a 4,325mAh battery with 33W charging.
You also get a 3-inch OLED cover screen, a 50MP main cam, a 2MP depth sensor and a 32MP front-facing module. Ai+ Nova Flip comes in a single Glacier White color and will retail for INR 49,999 ($540) in its 8/256GB trim. The phone will be available from May via partnering retailers in India.
Ai+ Nova 2
Nova 2 is built around a 6.74-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with a Unisoc T8200 chipset, 4/6GB RAM and 64/128GB storage, with the latter being expandable via the dual SIM slot, which can take one microSD card.
Nova 2 gets a 50MP main cam with f/1.8 aperture alongside an unspecified auxiliary sensor. The software side is covered by nxtQ OS based on Android 16, and you get a 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging. The phone features IP64 ingress protection, a headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Ai+ Nova 2 comes in purple, green, pink, blue, and black colors. The baseline 4/64GB trim comes in at INR 8,999 ($94) while the 6/128GB version will sell for INR 10,999 ($119). Open sales in India are scheduled for April 14.
Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra
Nova 2 Ultra brings a 6.78-inch AMOLED with 1.5K resolution and a faster 144Hz refresh rate. The panel is rated at up to 2,500 nits peak brightness and features a 13MP selfie cam and a built-in fingerprint scanner.
It is equipped with the more capable Dimensity 7400 chipset alongside 6/8GB RAM and 128GB storage, which is expandable.
Around the back, you get a 50MP main cam with Sony’s IMX752 sensor alongside an 8MP ultrawide lens. The software side is covered by nxtQ OS based on Android 16 with a 6,000 mAh battery and 33W wired charging. You also get superior IP68 ingress protection.
