After a series of teasers, Xiaomi India has officially launched the Redmi Note 15 Special Edition in the country. The device is identical to the Redmi Note 15 5G sold in China and features a 50MP primary rear camera along with a 5,800mAh battery.
The Redmi Note 15 Special Edition comes in three color options, including a distinctive Crimson Reserve variant that features a faux-leather rear panel. It’s also available in Carbon Black and Frosted White options.
It’s powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with an Adreno 710 GPU. The phone can be configured with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which is expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card.
The Special Edition features a 50MP primary rear camera, as opposed to the 108MP main sensor found in the global variant of the Redmi Note 15 5G. It gets a 2MP depth sensor and a 20MP front camera as well.
It features a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The panel also supports up to 3,200 nits peak brightness and 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The phone packs a 5,800mAh battery, similar to the China variant of the Redmi Note 15 5G. You get 45W fast charging support. The device runs Android 15-based HyperOS 2.
It also offers an under-display fingerprint scanner, IP55 and IP66 ratings, MIL-STD-810H certification, an infrared sensor, and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. For connectivity, the Note 15 Special Edition offers dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, 5G, and dual 4G VoLTE.
The handset starts at INR 19,999 ($215) for the 6GB/128GB model, whereas the 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants are priced at INR 21,999 ($235) and INR 22,999 ($250), respectively.
