Huawei has introduced a new variant of its recently launched Mate 80 Pro Max, featuring a built-in cooling fan. Dubbed the Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition, the device is currently up for pre-order in China.
Huawei has yet to share any details about the new variant, suggesting a formal announcement could be imminent, likely alongside the Huawei Enjoy 90 series, which is set to debut in China on March 23.
The Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition appears largely identical to the standard model at first glance, but teaser images reveal a wider camera ring with visible vents for the built-in fan.
Notably, Huawei seems to have made design compromises to accommodate the cooling system, including removing one of the cameras. The Wind Edition features a revised camera layout with a triple-sensor setup, compared to the quad-camera system on the standard Mate 80 Pro Max.
As mentioned, the device is already up for pre-order via Huawei’s official Vmall online store in China. It is listed in Polar Night Black and Polar Day Gold colour options, and is available in 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB configurations.
It is likely that the phone will offer similar specifications as the standard Mate 80 Pro Max, which comes with a 6.9-inch AMOLED LTPO display, a Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, and a 6,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
