Samsung recently teased the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra’s low-light photography chops, and today the company’s arm in the US has released a short video teasing the phone’s low-light video recording capabilities.
That’s nothing out of the ordinary, but here’s the thing – the teaser video itself was “generated with the assistance of AI tools”, as the company’s disclaimer clearly notes at the bottom.
That’s… interesting, to put it nicely. Why wouldn’t Samsung just share a video captured in low-light conditions with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, if the idea is to tease how good it is at that?
At one point in the video we’re asked “Can your phone do that?”. But since this is an AI-“assisted” video, apparently the S26 Ultra can’t “do that” either? It’s quite confusing, and we’re sure the intentions were good here (after all, the company did choose to disclose the AI “assistance”, it could simply not have done that), but despite that it does kind of seem like Samsung has shot itself in the foot with this one, at least a little bit.
Hopefully the actual low-light video recording performance of the S26 Ultra is better than using AI to tease it would imply. The phone is getting official alongside the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ on February 25, and the full spec sheet for all three devices was leaked not long ago, along with European pricing.
