Honor has officially unveiled the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design in China, alongside the Magic8 Pro Air. The new additions expand the Magic lineup, joining the Magic8 Pro and Magic8, which debuted in October last year.
Like previous Honor RSR Porsche Design models, the latest Magic8 variant features a distinctive design with styling cues inspired by Porsche supercars. It also sports a nano-ceramic rear panel, which Honor claims offers a Mohs hardness rating of 8.5.
Additionally, the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design is said to be 10% lighter than its predecessor. Notably, the camera module design is inspired by the matrix headlights seen on classic Porsche models.
It gets a 6.71-inch quad-curved LTPO AMOLED display that has a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and offers a peak HDR brightness of 6,000 nits. The display also supports Dolby Vision and 4,320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. It is protected by the Giant Rhino Glass.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and is available with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It runs Android 16-based Magic UI 10.0 with a bunch of AI features.
In terms of cameras, the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design gets a 50MP 1/1.3-inch main rear sensor with f/1.6 and OIS. For the ultrawide shots, the phone offers a 50MP sensor with a 122-degree field of view and also supports macro photography. As for zoom, there’s a 200MP 1/1.4-inch sensor with f/2.6 aperture, OIS, and 3.7x optical zoom.
Honor notes that the phone gets the first ever CIPA 6.5 rating for stabilisation. There’s also an AiMAGE color engine and support for an external 200mm telephoto lens from Nox.
For selfies, there’s a 50MP sensor housed inside a pill shaped cutout on the front, which also includes a 3D depth camera for Face unlock.
The phone packs a 7,200mAh battery that supports 120W SuperCharge (wired) and 80W wireless charging. Other specs of the phone include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, infrared sensor, an IP68/IP69/IP69K rating, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC. It weighs 239g and measures 8.45mm thick.
The Magic8 RSR Porsche Edition is available in Moonstone and Slate Gray color options. The base variant, which gets 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, is priced at CNY 7,999 ($1,150). Meanwhile, the 24GB/1TB model gets a price tag of CNY 8,999 ($1,290).
