The official launch date for the Realme 16 Pro series is still “coming soon”, but the company is ramping up the teasers. The Realme India store already has a landing page for the upcoming phone, which reveals quite a few details.
For starters, it confirms the periscope rumors – this teaser shows 1x, 3.5x and 10x magnification. If we had to guess, that’s 3.5x optical zoom and 10x digital. For what it’s worth, the Realme 15 Pro didn’t even have a telephoto camera, while the 14 Pro+ had a 3x/73mm periscope.
Moving on, the Realme 16 Pro will have a Snapdragon chipset. Which one? Well, these models usually get a 7-series chip. However, this teaser reveals that something more performant than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 will be in charge (the 15 Pro used the 7 Gen 4 chip). There is no 7 Gen 5 yet and no 7+ Gen 4 either, so place your bets on which Snapdragon it will be.
Also, the phone will have a long-lasting battery. How much capacity will it have? Presumably more than 6,500mAh, although this teaser is a bit vague on the matter. For what it’s worth, 7,000mAh is the number we have heard unofficially.
Also, the Chinese variant is supposed to have a 6.78” OLED display and a 200MP main camera. Whether that also applies to the Realme 16 Pro that will be sold in India remains to be seen. And it’s all rumors, anyway.
The final bit of official details confirmed in this teaser is about the software – the phone will launch with Android 16 and will receive 3 years of OS updates and an extra year of security patches.
