Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series has now been around for a couple of months, and its most recent additions to its Galaxy A series were also introduced just before Mobile World Congress at the beginning of March. That means all eyes are turning to the company’s folding phones and the latest report suggests there could be a long overdue update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the pipeline.
According to GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could come with a higher resolution main sensor than we have seen previously from the range. It’s suggested that the flagship folding device will borrow from the Galaxy S25 Ultra by offering the same 200-megapixel main sensor, which would be quite a significant resolution increase on the Galaxy Z Fold 6‘s 50-megapixel offering.
If the rumour is true, it would make the Galaxy Z Fold 7 the first folding device from Samsung to launch outside of South Korea with a 200-megapixel sensor, and it would also close the camera performance gap between Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S Ultra and the Galaxy Z line.
What else might the Galaxy Z Fold 7 offer?
The report on GalaxyClub also mentions the under-display camera of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and suggests that too will see an improvement over the Galaxy Z Fold 6. It doesn’t specify a resolution increase, but it does say it will get “better”.
As for the other rear cameras and the front camera, the report suggests these will remain the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which would mean the 200-megapixel main camera will be joined by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera, while the front camera will remain at 10-megapixels.
There’s currently no official word on when we might see the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 arrive, though rumours – supported by the GalaxyClub report – suggest July is the month to mark in your calendar. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and there is also talk of a tri-fold device, which would presumably rival the Huawei Mate XT if it arrives.

You may flip less thanks to this Galaxy Z Flip 7 screen upgrade
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is going to look slightly different from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6. The final design for the upcoming foldable flip phone shows the outer display getting an upgrade that will get rid of the black folder frame.
According to a report from Android Headlines, images of the Z Flip 7’s design show that the next installment in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series will do away with the quirky black folder frame present on the Z Flip 6. While the pictures don’t confirm the phone’s internal specs, which we have yet to see, it does confirm that the Z Flip 7 will have a bigger outer display will be bigger than that of its predecessor. With the screen being that big, you could get more things done on it, like watching TikTok videos and texting your friends, without the need to flip your phone open so frequently.

Samsung opens One UI 7 beta for foldables and confirms stable release window
Samsung kicked off the beta test program for Android 15-based One UI 7 software in December. But so far, it has remained exclusive to a handful of devices and with no final release date in sight. That status-quo has finally changed today.
The company has confirmed that the stable build of One UI 7 will be released in April. In addition to it, more devices will be added to the beta testing program starting tomorrow for users based in India, South Korea, the UK, and the US.

Samsung is so behind schedule, it might skip from One UI 7 straight to One UI 8
Despite numerous delays and a significant amount of time spent in development, One UI 7.0 could be the only version we see. Under normal circumstances, Samsung would release at least a 7.1 version to address any unforeseen bugs in the initial rollout, but a reliable leaker suggests things might change this generation.
“The next version of One UI 7.0 is One UI 8.0. There is no One UI 7.1 and 7.1.1,” according to @UniverseIce on X. The news is surprising, but it makes sense. There have been numerous beta releases, but Samsung has yet to launch the full, stable version of One UI 7 — and neither has the company given a concrete release window.
