Redmi K80 Series Passes 3C Certification, Reveals Key Charging Specifications

Xiaomi has just launched its most anticipated flagships, the Xiaomi 15 Series in China. However, the next iteration of Redmi’s flagship, Redmi K80 Series is in full swing. Last year Redmi launched the K70 Series which was well received by the consumers. The phones brought improved design and durability, screen, performance, and imaging. Now everyone is looking forward to the Redmi K80 Series and we finally have some key details to share.

Today, Redmi K80 Series has received China’s 3C certification revealing the charging protocols of the devices. The Redmi K80 will feature a 90W wired fast charging whereas the Redmi K80 Pro will feature a 120W wired fast charging.

Redmi K80 Series will feature a 6.67 inch 2K 120Hz display from TCL CSOT. The display material will be upgraded from C8 to potentially C9 this year. The vanilla Redmi K80 will feature the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor whereas the Pro variant will feature the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor.Both the Redmi K80 Series phones will feature a triple camera setup with 50MP as the primary camera. However, the good news is that this time vanilla Redmi K80 will also have a Telephoto camera and the Pro variant will upgrade the Telephoto to a 50MP 3X telephoto camera. This is a great upgrade to the imaging of both phones.

Another highlight feature of the Redmi K80 Series is the battery and charging capabilities. Redmi K80 Series will feature a 6000mAh above battery with Pro having 50W wireless charging support as well. The Redmi K80 Pro will be the first Redmi phone with ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and Xiaomi’s Longjing glass. Xiaomi’s Longjing Glass offers better drop resistance than Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 or even Apple ceramic shield glass.

Launch Timeline

Overall, the Redmi K80 Series surely looks like a very exciting product with upgrades in every area. The Redmi K80 Series will be released in China first, which will take place in November 2024. The global launch is currently unknown but if we go by the past, Redmi may release the Redmi K80 as Poco F7 Pro worldwide next year. However, next year there might be a twist and we also see the Redmi K80 Pro as the Poco F7 Ultra in the global market.
