L&T Technology Services has signed a five-year contract with Nokia to support engineering and research and development activities, including 5G, software development, AI infrastructure, and system integration.
L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has signed a five-year contract with Nokia to support the telecom company’s engineering and research and development (R&D) programs in India. The partnership will focus on product engineering, software development, system integration, and ongoing product support. The companies did not disclose the financial details of the agreement.
Under the contract, LTTS will establish a dedicated Offshore Development Center (ODC) in India to support Nokia’s engineering and R&D operations. The center will focus on next-generation telecommunications solutions, including data-center-grade computing and AI infrastructure.
LTTS will also build a dedicated engineering team in India to support Nokia’s global technology operations. The team will work across 5G networks, intelligent automation, AI-driven operations, and AI infrastructure.
The engagement will bring LTTS engineers and Nokia’s global R&D teams together through an integrated operating model. The scope includes new product development, embedded systems, software development, system integration, and product support.
Vivek Jaiswal, Senior Vice President of Engineering at Nokia, said India plays an important role in the company’s innovation strategy.
“India is an important innovation hub for Nokia, and LTTS is a critical partner that will bring engineering expertise and mechanisms that will help us expand our R&D footprint and accelerate innovation in this strategically important geography.”
Alind Saxena, Executive Director and President of Strategic Initiatives & Growth Markets at LTTS, described the agreement as a significant milestone for the company. He said the partnership reflects the confidence technology companies place in LTTS’ engineering capabilities.
“It reflects the trust that leading technology innovators place in our engineering intelligence approach and deep-tech engineering expertise. This collaboration also aligns strongly with LTTS’ Lakshya 31 Big Bet around next gen compute and AI infrastructure, an area that will be fundamental to the evolution of future communication networks and intelligent datacenters,” Saxena said.
The agreement aligns with LTTS’ broader focus on advanced computing and AI infrastructure. These technologies are becoming increasingly important as telecom companies develop next-generation networks and adopt more intelligent systems.
Through the partnership, LTTS will provide engineering support for Nokia’s global technology initiatives from India, strengthening the country’s role in telecommunications research, product development, and AI infrastructure engineering.
