Motorola Edge 70 Neo leak points to a 7,000mAh battery, 144Hz screen and four Pantone colours

Motorola’s next Neo could be going big. A new report from 91mobiles, citing tipster Sanju Choudhary, suggests the Edge 70 Neo will arrive with a 6.78-inch 1.5K display, a 144Hz refresh rate and a 7,000mAh battery. That would mark quite a departure from the compact format of previous Neo models. Four Pantone finishes are also tipped: Mountain View, Milky Blue, Sage and Gray Lilac. The specifications are still unofficial, including the reported 45W charging support.

Under the hood, the leak lists a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Memory options reportedly include 6GB or 8GB of RAM, alongside 128GB or 256GB of storage, although the exact combinations haven’t been confirmed. Gorilla Glass 7i would protect the display, while the body is said to measure 8.49mm thick and weigh 204 grams. An IP64 rating is also mentioned, meaning protection against dust and water splashes rather than immersion. Android 16 is expected out of the box, with four major Android upgrades and five years of security updates reportedly planned.

For photography, the reported setup combines a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP macro camera and a three-in-one light sensor. A 32MP camera would handle selfies and video calls. There’s no dedicated telephoto camera in the leaked specifications. The bigger battery also comes with a charging trade-off: Motorola’s Romanian specifications list a 5,000mAh battery and 68W charging for the Edge 60 Neo, alongside a smaller 6.36-inch 120Hz display. If the leak is accurate, its successor would gain considerable battery capacity while reducing charging power.

According to 91mobiles, Motorola confirmed an upcoming Indian launch during IFA 2026, but pricing and an exact release date are still missing. We haven’t found confirmation of a Romanian launch either. Motorola’s local Edge range already includes the Edge 70 Plus, listed with the same Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset and a 6.78-inch screen, but a smaller 6,500mAh battery. That gives the rumoured Neo a close relative in the Romanian lineup, although its local availability remains unconfirmed.
