Honor Unveils Win 2 Gaming Smartphone Series: Key Differences Explained

Gaming smartphones typically compete on performance, screen refresh rates, and cooling efficiency. With the new Win 2 series, Honor has added another priority: high-capacity batteries. Two of the three models feature 12,070 mAh batteries, while the most expensive version combines a flagship-tier chip with wireless charging.

The series includes the Honor Win 2, Win RT2, and Win Turbo 2. Despite their shared positioning, the devices vary significantly in hardware and feature sets.

Up to $1200 for Peak Performance

The Honor Win 2 is designed for those prioritizing raw performance. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, which reportedly scores over 5.7 million points in AnTuTu. Data processing speed is supported by LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

Notably, the flagship has a smaller battery than the other two models, coming in at 10,100 mAh. In exchange, the device supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The main camera features a 200MP sensor with optical image stabilization.

The base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage starts at $825, while the configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage goes up to $1200. The device runs on MagicOS 11 with the YOYO AI assistant.

Win RT2: A Balance of Power and Cooling

For the Win RT2, Honor opted for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 but focused heavily on thermal management. The smartphone features the active Dongfeng Uranus cooling system, which includes a built-in fan designed to dissipate heat during sustained gaming sessions.

The battery capacity is 12,070 mAh, outclassing the flagship version. The device supports 90W wired charging.

The camera setup includes a 200MP main module, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP selfie camera. Additional features include an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and an X-axis linear motor.

The starting price, including subsidies, is approximately $470. Compared to the Win 2, this model offers a larger battery and active cooling at a significantly lower price point, despite the different processor.

Win Turbo 2: Big Battery, Simplified Platform

The third model also packs a 12,070 mAh battery with 90W charging. However, instead of the high-performance chips found in the higher-end devices, it uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

The main camera utilizes a 50MP Sony sensor with optical stabilization, complemented by a 12MP ultra-wide module and a 50MP front camera. The body carries an IP69K rating.

The Win Turbo 2 starts at $480. While it sits in the same price tier as the Win RT2, it differs in processor and camera configuration. The choice between them depends on whether the user values cooling and platform performance or camera capabilities.

Shared Features Across the Series

Regardless of price, the entire Honor series features a flat 6.89-inch 2K display with a 185Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness is rated at 10,000 nits, with a PWM dimming frequency of 5920 Hz.

The devices also feature IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. These designations refer to the casing’s resistance to dust and water under specific testing conditions, though they do not guarantee absolute protection in all circumstances.

The battery capacities across the lineup are as follows:

  • Honor Win 2: 10,100 mAh, 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
  • Honor Win RT2: 12,070 mAh and 90W wired charging.
  • Honor Win Turbo 2: 12,070 mAh and 90W wired charging.

Release Date

Honor has not yet announced a global launch for the Win 2 series. Consequently, it remains unknown whether all three devices will be available in international markets or if the current pricing will apply elsewhere.

The lineup is designed to address different mobile gaming priorities. The Win 2 offers the most powerful hardware and wireless charging; the RT2 balances a massive battery with active cooling; and the Turbo 2 maintains high endurance with a different chipset. Ultimately, the choice between them should be based not just on price, but on which specific features align with the user’s daily needs.
