In the US, Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10. That’s this weekend, and with the holiday closing in, options have narrowed if you’re planning on purchasing an item online. Thankfully, thanks to retailers like Amazon with its fast shipping, there are still a few gadgets you can scoop up for mom that will make it here in time — but don’t delay much longer.
And while I’m not a mother, my 24 years as an eldest daughter have given me a pretty good idea of what you should (and shouldn’t) gift your mom. Rule No.1? Don’t purchase any type of household appliance or tool unless she specifically asked for it — trust me.

With that said, these are my favorite Mother’s Day gifts you can still buy with quick shipping time, so they should arrive before Sunday. Some of these are worth waiting an extra few days for, too, but remember to at least grab the Moms in your life a card and flowers.

If the mom in your life needs an update ahead of beach reading season, a Kindle is a great gift (and it’s also on sale again). The Kindle Paperwhite is our reviewer’s pick for the best Kindle you can buy. It’s on sale in all three color options, including a poppy pink for spring.

Not to be dramatic, but my Nodpod changed my life, and it could change your mom’s, too. I picked this up after a coworker recommended the Gravity Mask, hoping the Nodpod was a close competitor. It helps me fall asleep within minutes, a feat practically unheard of for a night owl like me. It fastens around your head with a pull-through design and features two sides: a soft and a cool side. It’s like a hug for your eyes, and it feels amazing on tired, tech-strained orbs.

Tumblers may feel overdone, but the value a genuinely good one brings to everyday life is unmatched. Owala makes some of my personal favorites, and I happen to know they’re mom-approved, as my own mom has usurped my second tumbler. They’re great for cold or hot drinks and aren’t too big to fit in a car cup holder.
If your mom needs a few more ZZZs, look no further than Ozlo. The Ozlo Sleepbuds are developed by ex-Bose engineers and are ZDNET sleep expert Nina Raemont’s pick for best overall sleep earbuds right now. She says these buds are the best, most comfortable sleep earbuds she’s tried to date.
“My bedroom overlooks a bustling Brooklyn street that is always polluted with noise, like police sirens, screaming ambulances, neighbors singing and celebrating into the wee hours of the night, and pedestrians yelling at each other. These earbuds simplified my descent into sleep — I put these earbuds in and couldn’t hear a song or chatter outside my window,” Raemont says.

I love gifting these sheet masks to friends and family, and often buy the multi-pack to split among several individual gifts. My Mom likes that these have a “cooling” effect and that they can be worn overnight, too.
Similarly to the Owala mug, perhaps these tumblers feel “trendy” or too overdone, but they’re so functional for at home. While I don’t prefer them for being out and about, as a WFH employee, my big ol’ cup of water makes it easy to stay hydrated. My own mom now has her own and appreciates that, unlike some other cup brands, Stanley cups can be popped into the dishwasher and don’t have any annoying silicone pieces to disassemble for cleaning.
Pop in some flowers, candy, or goodies in here and wrap it all up with a nice bow, and you’ve got a presentable gift for Mom.
Many people forget this, but Amazon is a fairly safe place to purchase a lot of health, wellness, and beauty items from, and they’re often slightly discounted or on sale. I’m a big fan of purchasing smaller trinkets like lip balms to place within large items (like that Owala tumbler or Stanley cup) to make curated yet easy gifts. Amazon sells tons of lip products across varying price points, but I’ve linked a few of my favorites.
Gift cards aren’t the most personal, but sometimes it’s the right move. Amazon has a few popular retailer gift cards on a slight discount right now, like Ulta, Nordstrom, H&M, and more. Giving the gift of choice is sometimes the best fit.
