We’ll admit it: we thought Apple would release a new entry-level iPad in March, so much so that we actively warned you against buying the current version until the company’s latest product showcase was done and dusted.

Well, Apple’s March event did play host to the launch of a new iPad, but not a new entry-level model. Instead, the M4-powered iPad Air 13-inch (2026) hit shelves alongside the excellent MacBook Neo — great if you’re in the market for a new cheap laptop, but not so brilliant if you were hoping to see Apple refresh its sub-$400 tablet offering.
Today’s best iPad 11-inch (2025) deal
The iPad 11-inch (2025) ranks as the best iPad for most people and the best cheap tablet overall, and we only advised against buying it earlier this month because, as you’ve read, we thought it was getting replaced in March. But with its A16 chipset, 10-hour battery life, and crisp 10.9-inch screen (Apple likes to round up the numbers), it remains a stellar choice for scrolling, streaming, video calling, and light gaming.
Amazon’s current deal price on the 128GB model isn’t the best we’ve ever seen — it hit as low as $271 during Black Friday last year — but now, unlike before, deals are available on almost every color and storage configuration.
The 256GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model, for instance, is currently just $466.60 (was $599), which actually is a record-low price.
