ZDNET’s key takeaways

  • The RingConn Gen 3 is coming soon.
  • The smart ring will have hypertension insights.
  • Not much else is known about the new ring.

Attention smart ring obsessives: we’re getting another RingConn smart ring very soon. RingConn unveiled the RingConn Gen 3 smart ring at CES 2026, and the new ring offers up some fun upgrades from the second-gen lineup.

RingConn is slowly becoming an underdog smart ring in the competitive wearables market. Over the past few years, the company has positioned itself as an affordable, subscription-free alternative to the higher-end smart rings, specifically the Oura Ring.

Hypertension detection

Hypertension detection or insights seem to be a prevailing feature in the latest generation of smartwatches and rings, and the RingConn Gen 3 doesn’t skip this one. RingConn’s blood pressure insights feature monitors blood pressure trends for risk assessment — not diagnosis. The ring does not provide precise blood pressure readings.

The smart ring is also getting a longer battery life, though by how much RingConn will extend it is still up in the air.

Smart vibration

One feature that is slowly but surely making its way into all smart rings is the smart vibration feature.

The ring will buzz to notify wearers of health alerts. I’m excited to see this feature in action, because it finally puts a sense of timeliness into the screenless and notification-free device. We’ll see if people are pleased with the feature, given the fact that most people buy smart rings for their screenless build and phone-dependent functionalities.

New finishes and sizes

The ring will come in five new finishes: brushed silver, brushed gold, polished future silver, polished royal gold, and matte black. RingConn expands its size offerings to 10 sizes, starting at size 6 and extending to size 15. Like some of the other details of the RingConn Gen 3, the price of the smart ring is unknown at this time.
