The brand-new OnePlus 15R is the latest device to get the teardown treatment from PBKreviews. The companion to the OnePlus 15 comes with a nearly identical design to its flagship sibling and the teardown process has more than a few similarities.
The teardown follows the standardized procedure of removing the SIM tray, heating up the glass back plate and prying the panel off. We can then see the camera island, which is held in place by 4x Phillips screws.
If you want to go deeper into the 15R, you’ll have to remove a whopping 17 Phillips screws. The battery cables are hidden under a graphite film and copper tape, and OnePlus thankfully provided pull pouches on the sides of the cell, which make the removal process that much easier.

Removing a few more flex cables frees up the 32MP selfie cam, and a single Phillips screw frees up the motherboard. Removing the screen is a bit more complicated as you’d have to remove most of the remaining components, including the bottom cover, back plate, sub-board and display cables.
In the end, the OnePlus 15R earns an 8.5/10 repairability score.
