Google’s latest update for its Pixel Watch 4 brings with it two new features. First, you get more gestures. These were revealed recently through a deep dive into some code.
You can now double pinch and use a wrist turn to control various features of the watch without ever touching the screen. Examples include scrolling through notifications, dismissing them, snoozing alarms, managing a timer or stopwatch, pausing music, selecting a smart reply, answering and ending phone calls. On-screen hints will pop up to let you know when you can use these gestures.
Second, smart replies are now enhanced for both the Pixel Watch 4 and the Pixel Watch 3. The new smart replies use the on-device Gemma-based language model, which is twice as fast and almost three times more efficient in memory usage compared to the previous one.
