If you’re looking for the best TV deal for Black Friday, I have no problem calling it for the Hisense CanvasTV at $847 (35% off the $1,299 retail price) for the 65-inch model. This is one of the the best living room and family room TVs you can buy right now.

If you want something a little smaller, the 55-inch Hisense CanvasTV is also 35% off — just $649 on Amazon.

For years, I’ve been a fan of Samsung’s The Frame TV, except for one thing — the price. So when Hisense announced its rival, the CanvasTV last year, I was excited to test it out. My conclusion was that Hisense delivers the same great family room TV as the Samsung model, and the only thing it’s missing is the premium OneConnect box. However, Hisense delivers a much better software interface with Google TV.

Hisense CanvasTV 65-inch for $847 (save $450)

Naturally, the biggest advantage of the Hisense CanvasTV is that it costs about two-thirds the price of Samsung’s The Frame. For example, Samsung’s 55-inch version retails for $1,498 while the Hisense 55-inch runs for $999. The Samsung 65-inch retails for $1,998 while the Hisense goes for $1,299.

Amazon is also offering a deep Black Friday/Cyber Monday discount on Samsung’s 55-inch The Frame for $699 (22% off) and the 65-inch The Frame for $989 (24% off). So if you are a Samsung fan and you want the OneConnect box to avoid having to run all of your wires to the TV, then you might want to grab that deal because it’s an all-time low price.

Both of these TVs do fundamentally the same thing. They make the big black rectangle on your family room wall more useful by making it look like a work of art. They both use magnetic frames to put around the outside of the TV to make it look like a picture frame, put a matte coating on the screen to remove glare and make it look more like the surface of a painting, and use software to cycle through digital versions of great works of art (or you can substitute those with your favorite family photos for a giant digital picture frame).

Otherwise, both TVs also serve as solid QLED TVs with mid-range specs.

Hisense has a much better price and better software (Google TV) while only coming in two sizes, 55-inch and 65-inch. Samsung offers seven different sizes between 32-inch and 85-inch, a ton of different frame options, a digital art store, and the OneConnect box for hiding cables and making it easier to disguise the TV as a picture frame.

All things considered, I’m happy to recommend the Hisense CanvasTV as one of my favorite TVs of 2024 — especially at 35% off for Cyber Monday.

How I rated this deal

I gave this deal a 4/5 rating for the significant discount on the regular price. At an already-competitive price point, this makes the Hisense CanvasTV a solid competitor to Samsung’s Frame TV lineup, which is typically pricier thanks to the brand name.
