There’s good news for smartphone photography enthusiasts. Vivo is preparing to bring its entire X500 series to India by the end of November. While we don’t know the exact phones launching in India, the series is expected to comprise the Vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max, with the latter expected to lead the lineup, as per sources. The Vivo X500 Ultra could arrive later. The lineup will continue the brand’s push into premium camera phones, with upgrades to autofocus tracking, slow-motion recording and video tools for content creators. The company has yet to confirm the launch date or specifications.
Vivo X500 Pro Max camera features tipped
As per a recent report, the Vivo X500 Pro Max will lead the series with a 50MP Sony LYTIA L910 primary camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. Its reported camera features include 60fps autofocus tracking snapshots and 4K slow-motion recording at up to 960fps.
The phone is also tipped to support 4K recording at 240fps, 4K 120fps video with autofocus tracking and TrueDynamic Log for colour grading. The 960fps slow-motion feature reportedly uses frame interpolation, so it may not deliver the same level of detail as footage captured natively at that frame rate.
These features would give the Pro Max more video options than a typical flagship camera phone. However, their practical benefits will depend on image quality, stabilisation and how well the camera handles different lighting conditions. Phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S series and Apple’s iPhone Pro models also compete in this segment with advanced video recording tools.
Vivo X500 and X500 Pro: what to expect
As per reports, the standard Vivo X500 is expected to run on the Dimensity 9600M and feature a 50MP primary camera, reportedly using the same sensor as the X300 Pro, alongside a 64MP telephoto camera. All three phones are tipped to run OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 and offer IP68/IP69-rated dust and water resistance.
Vivo has yet to announce the India launch date, pricing or configurations for the X500 series. For context, the Vivo X300 launched in India at Rs 75,999, while the X300 Pro started at Rs 1,19,999. These prices provide a reference for the existing lineup, but the X500 series’ pricing remains unknown. Buyers considering a premium camera phone may want to wait for confirmed Indian prices and independent camera tests before deciding between the three models. Meanwhile, the Vivo X500 Ultra’s appearance on an IMEI database reportedly hints at a possible wider release, although its launch plans remain unconfirmed.
