Apple’s new foldable iPhone will land on shelves this week but shoppers can get their hands on free earbuds if they opt for a significantly cheaper flip model. The iPhone Duo is set to launch on Friday (October 23) at retailers across the UK and will mark Apple’s most expensive model ever.
The Duo is billed as ‘the most transformational change’ to the original 2007 model, but prices range from £1,999 to an eye-watering £3,199 when buying outright from retailers like Apple and Argos. Monthly prices start at £47 at Sky Mobile, with major networks like EE charge upwards of £90 per month on some tariffs.
It’s fair to say some tech fans may be put off by the Duo’s price tag, so for those preferring a more affordable model, we’ve spotted a new deal on the Motorola Razr 70 Ultra that includes free earbuds worth £130. This Android flip phone – released in May this year – comes with a set of Moto Buds Loop when ordered at Mobiles.co.uk, where a £44.99 per month plan comes with unlimited data, minutes and texts.

This is a 24-month contract with iD Mobile that has an £89 upfront cost. It’s worth noting monthly prices will rise during the minimum term, with the £44.99 plan increasing to £46.79 from April 2027 and £48.59 from April 2028.
The Motorola Razr 70 Ultra is the brand’s most premium flip phone, designed with a 6.96” pOLED main display when open and a compact 4” external display. It has a 50MP triple-lens camera system and is powered by Snapdragon’s 8 Elite processor and Android 16 for fast, smooth performance.
Motorola says the battery can run for up to 36 hours depending on usage, while users can access a host of AI features via Moto AI 2.0 and Google Gemini. These include smart photo editing, circle to search and live translation.
Motorola’s Razr 70 Ultra rivals Samsung’s latest flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip8. This model can be reduced by 20% in Samsung’s pre-Black Friday sale with the code SW20, which drops the 256GB model from £1,149 to £919.20.
This compares to £1,199 when buying the Razr 70 Ultra outright at Amazon. Samsung’s flagship flip phone has similar physical specifications to the Razr 70 Ultra, with a 6.9” main display and 4.1” external display.

However, it has a single 50MP lens alongside a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a shorter battery life of around 31 hours. According to David Snelling, Technology Editor at the Daily Express, Samsung ‘rules the roost’ with its bendable smartphones, but Motorola has positioned itself as a strong contender with its Razr 70 Ultra.

However, David also criticised the Razr 70 Ultra’s price tag, saying it’s ‘not cheap’. The handset is said to deliver ‘plenty of oomph’ though for the extra cost, as David continued: “Under the flexible clamshell design is a rapid Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which offers plenty of oomph, and there’s a big 5,000mAh battery for all-day usage.
“It gets fast 68W TurboPower charging, a durable Corning Gorilla Glass design and a dual-lens camera with a 50MP LOFIC sensor that captures up to six times more dynamic range.”
