Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is preparing to launch its most popular Redmi Note 14 Series in China. However, work on Redmi’s next iteration of the flagship Redmi K80 Series is in full swing. Last year Redmi launched the K70 Series which was well received by the consumers. The phones brought improved design and durability, screen, performance, and imaging. Now everyone is looking forward to the Redmi K80 Series and we finally have some key details to share.
Key Features
Redmi K80 Series will feature a 6.67 inch 2K 120Hz display from TCL CSOT. The display material will be upgraded from C8 to potentially C9 this year. The vanilla Redmi K80 will feature the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor whereas the Pro variant will feature the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is tipped to bring significant improvements across all boards like CPU, GPU, AI, and Power efficiency.
Both the Redmi K80 Series phones will feature a triple camera setup with 50MP as the primary camera. However, the good news is that this time vanilla Redmi K80 will also have a Telephoto camera and the Pro variant will upgrade the Telephoto to a 50MP 3X telephoto camera. This is a great upgrade to the imaging of both phones. The smartphones will also offer an improved dust and water resistance with IP 69 certification.
Another highlight feature of the Redmi K80 Series is the battery and charging capabilities. Redmi K80 Series will feature a 6000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. Moreover, the Redmi K80 Pro will be the first Redmi phone with Xiaomi’s Longjing glass. Xiaomi’s Longjing Glass offers better drop resistance than Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 or even Apple ceramic shield glass. The smartphone will boot Xiaomi’s upcoming HyperOs 2.0 based on Android 15 out of the box.
Launch Timeline
Overall, the Redmi K80 Series surely looks like a very exciting product with upgrades in every area. The Redmi K80 Series will be released in China first, which will take place in November 2024. The global launch is currently unknown but if we go by the past, Redmi may release the Redmi K80 as Poco F7 Pro worldwide next year with K80 Pro again being China Exclusive only.
